There is a New Home Infusion Therapy Benefit – Now What?

There is a New Home Infusion Therapy Benefit – Now What? There has long been a void in home infusion therapy (HIT) in that there was no benefits available for the services.  However, that has changed with the 21st Century Cures Act which established a new Medicare benefit for HIT.  The Medicare HIT benefit provides for coverage of home infusion therapy services for certain drugs and biologicals administered intravenously or subcutaneously for an administration period of 15 minutes or more in the patient’s home.  However, the devil is in the details and this is no exception.  This presentation will discuss the new HIT benefit and explain what pharmacies and home health entities need to know in order to provide and bill for such services.
