HIPAA: Lessons Learned

It has been 25 years since HIPAA was signed into law by President Clinton. While HIPAA was designed to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the health care system, it has resulted in additional work and cost for providers. This presentation will discuss recent cases and enforcement trends in the HIPAA arena. It will also discuss steps that providers must take to protect the privacy and security of its medical records to avoid being the subject of an Office of Civil Rights investigation.
