Agitation & Delirium at End of Life

Many patients nearing death experience delirium and agitation. This presentation will define these common symptoms and review how they may be indicative of prognosis. Additionally, reversible causes, nonpharmacologic interventions, and pharmacologic interventions will be discussed. Palliative sedation will also be presented as a treatment option for refractory agitation.
